Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho told the club website that midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to play, and likely start, against West Ham on Sunday following a man of the match performance Thursday in a 4-0 win against Feyenoord in Europa League.
The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund has only played in three Premier League matches this season, mostly due to injury, but is now expected to play a significant role due to injuries in midfield.
"He just needs now to replicate this kind of performance in the Premier League," Mourinho said. "The Premier League is different – he needs one more step. Obviously now confidence levels are higher.
"This performance gives him the right to believe that he can play the next match again and he needs to replicate this kind of performance in the Premier League with more physicality and more aggression."
