Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that defender Mathieu Debuchy suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of the club's 3-1 win against Bournemouth and could be set for an extended time out.
““When I picked the squad I imagined that something could happen to Debuchy...He thinks it’s a severe one," Wenger told the "Evening Standard" in his postgame press conference Sunday.
"Don’t go too far because I have to speak to medical people, but you can only assess it really after 48 hours. You have to let it bleed and after, usually they have an MRI 48 hours later to see how big the damage is.”
The 31-year-old Frenchman was just recently brought back into the first team following an injury to Hector Bellerin, making his first appearance of the season Sunday.
