Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club website that defender Mathieu Debuchy will miss the next six weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury against Bournemouth last weekend.
"It’s a severe hamstring injury," Wenger said in his prematch press conference. "Six weeks, I think. It’s frustrating for me, but even more for him because he fights very hard.
"He is a guy who has an exceptional attitude and is very serious. Overall, I think that he is absolutely disappointed, but he is as well a fighter and he will fight to come back."
Debuchy suffered the injury just 15 minutes into his first appearance of the season after starting at right-back against Bournemouth. Now the club will have to look to Carl Jenkinson and Gabriel Paulista until Hector Bellerin returns.
